Sin often grabs hold of us and causes us to do destructive things. For David, who was not yet King but knew that the throne would be his, one heated moment was about to stain his kingship. Riding with his soldiers, he was set on murdering a man who had cheated him out of some wages. Yet, in a moment of courage and humility, a woman named Abigail interceded to bring peace and showed us God’s way in conflict. Her actions reflect the ultimate peacemaker Jesus, who stepped into our brokenness to reconcile us to God through the cross.
